Nominations for the SLU Board now open

Published: 09 December 2025

Nominations are now open for SLU's Board of Governors for the term commencing 1 May 2026 and concluding 30 April 2028. The deadline for submission is 14 December.

The SLU Board is responsible for the overall direction and budget of the university's activities. Of the 15 board members, three represent teachers and researchers; these three positions are now subject to an election. Only members of the electoral college are eligible to nominate candidates (see Facts).

Who can be nominated?

The SLU Board has ruled that eligibility to vote and stand for election to the faculty boards will also determine eligibility to vote and stand as a representative of teachers and researchers on the SLU Board.
Candidates must confirm their acceptance of the nomination. Nominations must include a brief statement (no more than 100 words) outlining the person's suitability for the role. Please send your nomination to valberedning24-27@slu.se.

What happens next?

  • Following the 14 December deadline, the nomination committee (see Facts section) will review the submissions.
  • The committee's proposals and the candidate presentations will be published in January.
  • The election will be conducted electronically between 16 February and 1 March 2026.
  • The newly elected representatives will commence their term of office on 1 May 2026.
