You are invited to the Ecology Department Symposium! There will be short talks from department members and two invited guests, as well as dinner and lots of other inspiring, interesting and fun activities.
Our guests are Otso Ovaskainen, a professor of mathematical and statistical ecology, University of Jyväskylä, and Maria Gunther, a science editor at Sweden's largest newspaper, Dagens Nyheter (DN).
The theme of this year's symposium is to get to know each other's units better and share stories that are not often celebrated.
We have room for around 30 short talks - this is the most important part of the symposium. We would like to encourage you to present your work, especially if you are new or have not presented for a while.
We will begin with registration and coffee/tea at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 11 February, and conclude no later than 3:30 p.m. on 12 February. A more detailed programme will be provided closer to the event.
Please sign up no later than 14 January.
* Coffee or tea with a sandwich or something sweet.
**It would be a great help to the organising team if you say yes! And don’t worry—if it’s your turn to present, we’ll reach out to you anyway. Technical and administrative staff are also welcome to give a talk.
