Symposium: Annual Krycklan Symposium

Krycklan Symposium

The Krycklan Symposium convenes a diverse academic community—including scientists, doctoral researchers, engineers, and technicians—who contribute to long-term, multidisciplinary research in northern Sweden’s boreal biome.

📅 September 24, 2025
📍 P-Ö Bäckström SLU-biblioteket, Umeå, Skogsmarksgränd 17, 901 83 Umeå, Sweden

Join leading researchers and practitioners at the annual Krycklan Symposium to explore the latest insights in boreal hydrology, soil-water interactions, and ecosystem dynamics. This event features keynote talks and panel discussions highlighting emerging research and practical applications.

Preliminary Session Themes:

Session 1: Natural Streams and Modified Waterways
Topics include stream network mapping, hydromorphology, aquatic biodiversity, and the effects of land use change and restoration on hydrological and ecological processes.

Session 2: Terrestrial Dynamics in Boreal Landscapes
Focus on drought regimes, vegetation–climate interactions, and soil–plant–atmosphere processes critical to boreal ecosystem function under environmental change.

Lightning Poster Session
Present your research in brief, rapid-fire presentations followed by an extended poster viewing and discussion period.

Further details, including keynote speakers and the final session schedule, will be announced soon.

Participation is free, including meals. Advance registration is required.
