The LTV faculty allocates Best Practice funds annually to provide teaching staff possibilities to develop the quality as well as the content and pedagogics in teaching at bachelor and master level.
SLU are to conduct education based on scholarship or artistic practice and on proven experience (The Swedish Higher Education Act, Chapter 1, 2§). The faculty’s Best Practice funds intends to contribute to ensure that our teaching reaches the learning objectives stated for vocational programmes, as well as for general programmes and single courses.
Teaching staff at the LTV faculty are hereby given an opportunity to competence development, by deepening their knowledge within a field, increase their knowledge about the industry – its conditions and student’s competence needs for a future professional life and/or to develop subject relevant pedagogics.
Deputy Dean decided in 2021, that the following projects are funded:
- Beatrix Alsanius and Anna Karin Rosberg for the project “Development of virtual central laborations in the MSc-course BI1368 Microbial Horticulture” with SEK 120 000,
- Teun Dekker for the project t ”Anchoring Interdisciplinarity and Cohesiveness in an Expanding Course” with SEK 80 000,
- Paul Becher for the project “Competence Development in Practical Plant Protection” with SEK 71 000, and

- Åsa Lankinen och Kristina Karlsson Green för projektet ”Pedagogik och forskningsanknytning i tvärvetenskap” med 100000 kr,
- Torsten Hörndahl och Daniel Nilsson för projektet ”Det nya högteknologiska jordbruket – Behov av fördjupade kunskaper och förnyade undervisningsformer” med 90000 kr,
- Jan-Eric Englund och Adam Flöhr för projektet ”Dags för en kvantitativ analys” med 80000 kr,
- Vera Vicenzotti, Ulla Myhr och Josefin Wangel för projektet ”Akademiskt skrivande i tvärvetenskapliga yrkesprogram – En guide till kandidatuppsatser i landskapsarkitektur” med 150000 kr,
- Mattias Larsson, Johan Stenberg, Paul Becher, Salla Marttila, Svante Resj och Erland Liljeroth för projektet ”Förnyelse av digital lärobok Växtskyddets grunder” med 200000 kr, samt
- Fredrik Fernqvist och Sara Spendrup för projektet ”Utveckling av verklighetsbaserade fall/case kopplade till lärandemål” med 109000 kr.
