The EU has four different structural funds named Regional, Social, Agriculture and Fisheries Fund. There is also a special fund called the Cohesion Fund. The first two are part of a programming period ranging between 2014-2020. Funds uses to finance development in the areas of economy and social cohesion.

The purpose of the Structural Funds is to strengthen economic and social cohesion between EU member countries and regions. Funds finance projects that will help EU regions and vulnerable groups in society.
