LIFE is the EU's financial instrument for the environment and annually parts EU Commission money to projects in member countries.

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is the Swedish representative for the cooperative program Life, which finances international cooperative projects in the fields of nature and biodiversity, environmental policy and governance, and information and communication.

Each year the European Commission publish calls for proposals for projects under Life. Grants are decided and awarded during the year after the application. The condition of the grant is that there are also funding from elsewhere.

Facts:

It is now possible to apply for a seed money from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency to write an application for the 2019 LIFE program. The seed money applies to LIFE applications in the field of nature and biodiversity.
