Video graphics

As video is used more often on websites and on social media, it is important that SLU is listed clearly and consistently as the sender of videos produced for the university.

The Division of Communication and the Educational Media Unit have developed several video objects; images to open and end your video with, consistent name signs and guidelines for where and how to place the SLU logo in the video. The graphic objects should be used for all qualitative SLU productions with an internal or external target audience.

Below are descriptions of various video production levels and the appropriate video graphics packages.

Intro/outro alternative 1: The logo and brand promise. This may be used before or after the main video content.

Intro/outro alternative 2: The logo, brand promise and image collage. This may be used before or after the main video content.

A watermarked SLU logo is to placed in the upper right corner of the frame. Use the white version, with 20% opacity.

The name and title bar is to be placed on the left edge of the frame, right above the captions. Editing of the name and title document (the text and background colour) is to be made in Adobe Photoshop. There are three different background colours in the document to choose from. If the light grey background colour is chosen, please use black font colour. The text layers of the document uses the font Akzidenz Grotesk.

As a conclusion or a call to action after the main video content, write out SLU’s web address (www.slu.se) or another, more specific short address, e.g. www.slu.se/sluglobal. If necessary, start with a short text "Apply on" or "Sign up here".

Filming/live streaming with a mobile phone – instant publication on social media

  • No profiling is required for quick, spontaneous interviews where focus lies on distributing content while the event is still taking place. The content itself describes sender and context.
  • Remember that clothes with the SLU logo on them, for example a hat, or background material in the video, can make it evident that SLU is the sender.

    No graphics package needed.

Filming and editing with a mobile phone/tablet and simpler video-editing software

The package contains

  • Introduction (two versions to choose from):
    The SLU logo plus the brand promise “Science and education...” with or without background picture, to be shown before or after the video (complete image can be downloaded).
  • Conclusion:
    SLU’s web address (www.slu.se) or another, more specific short address, e.g. www.slu.se/sluglobal.
  • Credits:
    Production frame with information on who produced the film and in which year as well as originators of external video, image or audio material.

Video editing using advanced editing software

  • Introduction:
    The SLU logo plus the brand promise “Science and education...” with or without background picture (two versions to choose from)
  • While the content is showing:
    Watermarked SLU logo (white, 20 per cent opacity) at the top right corner of the video.
  • While the content is showing:
    Name and title to introduce people to the viewer
    (fades in, remains for about 5 seconds, then fades out).
  • Conclusion:
    SLU’s web address (www.slu.se) or another, more specific short address, e.g. www.slu.se/sluglobal.
  • Credits:
    Production frame with information on who produced the film and in which year as well as originators of external video, image or audio material.

Example of how to use the graphics package

Extra-everything video production

  • Introduction:
    A short, animated intro (2 seconds) including logo and signature audio.
  • While the content is showing: 
    Name and title are added to introduce people to the viewer.
  • While the content is showing:
    Watermarked SLU logo.
  • Conclusion: Outro (10-second animation, SLU profile, logo plus URL) including signature audio.
  • Afterwards: Production frame – displayed after content (producer -info, year, originator of external, image or audio material).

Animated intro
