International conference and study trip to Latvia

International conference for the SNS Nordic Growth & Yield network2021  
in Latvia in 2021, 17-19 August.
Including field excursions and outdoor sessions at scientific research forests at Kalsnava forest district where scientific activities started in 1960’s.  The main theme and topics are planned as follows: 

“Local solutions for regional and global forest management challenges” 

The conference will focus on following topics:

• growth and yield modeling
• improvement of forest growing conditions
• fast-growing trees and fast growing of trees 
• climate change and forest growth 
• benefits and risks of intensified forest management

For BECFOR PhD students we are also planning for a study trip as post-conference tour. More info will come winter 2021.
